Clearly, the kids would prefer a bun, but I can make this meal work for the whole family. You can make shoestring fries on your own, or use a bag of frozen fries (love the airfryer for these!).
This recipe has a thin burger sauce to use as “dressing”, that will work on the kids buns as well, though it may be a little drippy.
There are Montreal or Steakhouse style seasonings to use for the burger meat, but salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika will do the trick. Otherwise, there is plenty going on with flavor.
My family always needs a little more than a pound of ground beef, but this 1.25 lb. yield is only convenient if you order ground meat from a butcher (or Costco often packages in 1.5 lbs.). You know what your family’s protein desires are, so adjust as you need.
