Week 160

Another Friday! You made it! I was actually cold yesterday which was refreshing. The weeks are feeling full with after school activities and trying to comfortably make that transition from so much free time to welp, having less of it. Everyone is tired but we're finding our way.

This week has some excellent make-ahead options. My kids are not soup people, but they liked this taco soup with corn chips on top. Curran LOVED the potatoes, and while they may look like a side for some of you, we called them dinner with some cut fruit and a hard boiled egg on the side. They would go well with all sorts of proteins. The tart is one of my favorite recipes here, I just love that crust and it fares for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The cake is more snack than dessert, not overly sweet at all, so for those of you looking for kid-friendly breakfast and lunch ideas, this could work well!

We are heading up to Lake Arrowhead this weekend with some friends to celebrate Hugh's birthday and hang. The kids can't wait and we're just planning to play games, bike, walk the lake, eat and drink. I cooked a lot yesterday so I didn't have to do a bunch there. Hugh requested harissa lamb meatballs, with the tahini glazed cauliflower, salad, rice and pita and the s'mores blondies from two weeks ago! I also prepped some butternut turkey chili that I'll warm up and serve with tater tots, cheese, and other chili toppings. My kids like a bowl of about 70/30 tots to chili ;) Alas! Hope you have something fun to look forward to this weekend. Take good care.

Please let me know if I can help with anything!
