Week 180

Happy love month! The kids crafted some valentines this week and we've been taping lollipops to the back. Glitter running wild and free. We are not ones to go to dinner on Valentine's, but do like to make something special for dinner at home. We've historically cooked together and eaten late, after the kids are tucked away, but we've been thinking of including them this year. Two on the entree, and two on a side and dessert... it actually sounds like chaos and a very long process now that I'm typing that out.

I will start by saying I love this salad. It's a really light version of a Ceasar so it doesn't weigh down the whole meal, but with a protein on top, could stand on its own and be impressive. The pasta kind of melts together with that grated squash giving it a touch of color and sweetness, but the savory shallots and bacon on top making it special. The fish is delicate and lemony (of course) and makes its own white wine sauce that is perfect with that crunch topping. We served ours with rice - garlic bread would be nice, as well. Lastly... Oh man that chocolate tart is delicious. It's similar to other flourless chocolate cakes we've made but the creamy layer is special. Enjoy it and share a few pieces because it's pretty rich. I'll include other ideas below. If I can point you towards anything, let me know!
