Week 197

This week’s menu is themed for your summer requests! We don’t camp often to be honest, I’m a glamping kind of gal, but whether you’re on the ground or a mattress, the kitchen set up is slim and limited in either circumstance. We assumed for a grill and that perhaps you have a place to cook a skillet, be it over a campfire or a propane set up. Be sure to read through the recipes and adjust based on what you travel with. Each recipe has make ahead moments - chopping vegetables, making a chimichurri, prepping a slaw, making our beloved whiskey caramel sauce. Nothing is complicated or hard or winning culinary awards - but camping food should be simple and easy and these recipes are such.

This menu also repeats a handful of ingredients - forgiving summer produce like peppers, zucchini and onions that can withstand oscillating cooler temperatures and don’t require delicate preparations. I hope this makes shopping simple too.

Those of you who have favorite camping meals, please do add them to the thread I started on both our Facebook group and instagram post threads of your favorite meals to make out in the wild. It helps the whole lot of us!
