Week 237

Happy Friday! There are softball team photos, a game and a meal delivery to friends with a new (4th!) baby. I'm making a double batch of our chicken taco soup with lots of chips for garnish and a batch of brownies. Sunday, we are heading to LA to cheer on my brother in law in his first marathon and then try to finish building a gate on the side of the house so the dog can be free in the backyard. The weather feels cold and dark, like you should be hunkering in, but life doesn't stop. Good things. Full things. As much as I crave rest too, I admit I do really love experience and connection and living into this life we've made. Curious what the season looks like for you, and what that means with your cooking. We have longer light now (yay!) but I still find myself leaning towards meals that have a few steps done in advance, so dinner time doesn't feel so stressful. I know my job provides an uncommon amount of time to do this, but I think anyone can find the little windows they need - be it over the weekend, or one quick step in the morning (whizzing up a sauce or marinating the chicken). That, or making the entire meal in advance, like this week's curry! I love it so much and love a meal that reheats well. Anyway. Here we are with more dinners (and one beautiful appetizer plate!) that should help get you through your week.
