Week 242

Hello sunshines! Literally. It is a beautiful day and I am so grateful you are here. Few random stream of consciousness things for your Friday. I think Hugh maybe sprained by foot by cracking my toes too aggressively. Per recent conversation, apparently not everyone has heard that the show Shrinking on Apple TV - a light hearted and funny and still thoughtful night cap of a show, so if you like something light before bed, that's a good one. The best gluten free boxed brownies are King Arthur (add chocolate chips, maybe a peanut butter swirl, successful with vegan butter, under bake by 5 minutes). They have made me rethink my cookbook brownie recipe, as theirs lists sugar as the number one ingredient on the box and now I think my recipe is not sweet enough.

I love this week's Middle Eastern Caesar salad very much but what I will definitely need this weekend are those sandwiches. Look at them! There is homemade pesto and olives and some crispy prosciutto which you could skip if you want them vegetarian and greens and mozzarella and some roasted red peps because they are more seasonal than tomatoes. Ideally you find a bread that is both sturdy enough to absorb the oil but soft enough that you don't rip your mouth. Pictured is the ciabatta baguette from Trader Joes. Finding good, fresh bread is it's own sort of adventure.

I am always curious what you are cooking so please do share your photos. I will also drop the reminder to leave comments on the recipes you love or notes on changes you prefer because it helps folks hear community feedback.

Have a wonderful weekend!
