We're getting ready for heavy rain on Sunday so sounds like summer is getting the boot. We have pretty mild weather in California, so I am so curious what this will look like, and hope folks stay safe. On this week's menu, we have a fun new salad with a crunchy nut topping and a dressing with a roasted shallot. You all love these lettuce cups so that is definitely going to be a weeknight go to. We're making a different chorizo spiced meatball (yes, different than that sheetpan ones we have in the archives!). They are so packed with flavor and we love loved this rice. Lastly, no one will turn down one of these nutter butter balls. I even tried a version with those allergen free cookies from Trader Joes so that people with very strict household or school dietary standards would have an option here too. It all works!

I have been in contact with a local gal who has a lot of ties in Maui, and is organizing direct fundraising and supplies for families there. I told her our SKCC community is full of wonderful people who would love to help a family directly. Nicole has a great list of direct needs, and has pointed our crew towards @arielahhee. You can venmo her directly with a kind note, or if you'd like to message me personally, I can get you an address to send their requests. They are accepting new clothing donations: Boys 3t and 6t, Womens M clothing and bathing suits, mens XL clothing and trunks. I'm sure kids toys or nice notes would be well received as well.
