An almost happy new year to you! and welcome if you so happen to have been generously gifted an SKCC subscription this holiday. 278 weeks, my people. So many weeks of recipes. We're mapping out the next few weeks of recipes and while I know January is all salads and health time, I also want warm, real food. Definitely less sugar and alcohol, more eating produce packed, home cooked dinners. It will never feel like some place I want to clear of all it's flavor and deliciousness. I suppose I am intending to say, that while January will bring salads and vegetables here, there will also be scones and enchiladas and more good things for your table. Until then, we have a little bit of NYE flair this week with the double chocolate flourless tart and a different short rib dish. We use brown sugar and soy sauce and the short ribs get tender and just bronzed on the edges with a quick broil in the oven. Because there will also just be normal dinner nights, we'll make these spice packed meatballs with a fun rice salad, and a stewy winter tagine that is excellent to make ahead. Many of you have time off from work and school in this period, and I hope it's giving you more time to cook and be cozy with people you share meals with.
